After a new ProSeries update, our client received today on their ProSeries 2022 software, all the workstations and servers started receiving the following error message:
Error loading C:\ProWin22\32bit\ProPrdList22.ini: Failed CRC check.
CRC of C:\ProWin22\32bit\ProPrdList22.INI contents does not match the
contents of C:\ProWin22\32bit\ProPrdList22.BIN
The error above is referencing the installation folder of ProSeries 2022, in our case C:\ProWin22\32bit\, and 2 files that are related to ProSeries 2022 updates, ProPrdList22.INI and ProPrdList22.BIN, which configuration files that can be recreated using the ProSeries 2022 Repair Updates tool.
Clients are unable to access/open ProSeries 2022 on workstations and servers due to the error:
Error loading C:…\ProPrdList22.INI: Failed CRC check. CRC of C:…\ProPrdList22.INI contents does not match the contents of C:…\ProPrdList22.BIN
Yes! We have come across 3 different solutions and they are noted below from least time required to the most time consuming.
On the affected workstations and servers:
Wait for the update repair process to finish and then try to open ProSeries 2022 again. If the issue was solved, you are all set. However, we recommend to check for ProSeries 2022 Updates to ensure the application is current.
Similar to the previous step, we will run the repair tool. However, before doing the repair, we will locate the 2 affected files, noted on the error message and rename them. In our case we renamed the files ProPrdList22.ini and ProPrdList22.bin, as ProPrdList22-TODELETE012623.ini and ProPrdList22-TODELETE012623.bin, respectively.
Once the files are renamed/removed, continue to run ProSeries 2022 -> Tools – Repair Updates on the affected workstations and servers:
Wait for the update repair process to finish and then try to open ProSeries 2022 again. If the issue was solved, you are all set. However, we recommend to check for ProSeries 2022 Updates to ensure the application is current.
If none of the solutions above resolved the issue, the final step is to fully uninstall ProSeries 2022 on the affected machine and reinstall it.
